Juice May Be Contaminated With Botulism
New York-based Walker’s Wine Juice LLC is recalling juice sold in 12 U.S. states over concerns it may be contaminated with the bacteria that causes botulism.
,
The juice was distributed in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and New York. Affected products are:
- 2.5-gallon bag in box and 5-gallon hot pack labeled “pumpkin”; All lots are subject to the recall.
- 30-, 60- and 275-gallon bulk containers tagged “pumpkin”; All lots are subject to the recall.
The potential contamination was discovered after an inspection by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets found that the pumpkin juice pH was too high to be processed. As a result, inspectors determined that no adequate step was taken to address the possibility of microbiological hazards.
,
No illnesses have been reported to date. Botulism is a potentially fatal form of food poisoning and can cause the following symptoms: general weakness, dizziness, double-vision, and trouble with speaking or swallowing. Difficulty in breathing, weakness of other muscles, abdominal distension, and constipation may also be common symptoms.
Consumers are urged to contact Walker’s Wine Juice for a possible refund and to determine an appropriate disposal of the remaining product. A representative for the company can be reached at 716-679-1292, ext. 1016.

Cheese May Have Listeria Contamination
Two Wicklow Gold brand cheeses sold in five states — Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Ohio — have been recalled because they may be contaminated with the disease-causing Listeria monocytogen bacteria.
Certain lots of 5.2-ounce packages of Wicklow Gold Cheddar Nettle & Chive and Wicklow Gold Cheddar Tomato & Herb are involved in the recall, which was issued in January.
,
The recall remains active because the use-by date on the cheeses isn’t until early June.
Tiny Rocks Found In Chocolate Bars
Chocolate bars distributed across the country are being recalled after consumers reported finding small stones that hadn’t been filtered out during third-party almond harvesting and processing, according to the manufacturer, Tony’s Chocolonely Inc.
Seven lots of the company’s Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar and everything Bar are part of the recall. They were distributed to retail stores nationwide and also sold online.
It is unclear if anyone became ill after eating the recalled products.
“Whilst the chance of any individual product being affected is low, and we have not yet received any complaints in North America, we have decided to take this step in order to ensure the safety and satisfaction of Tony’s Chocolonely consumers in an abundance of caution,” the company wrote in the recall.

Egg Substitute May Contain Bleach
Lake Odessa, Michigan-based Cargill Kitchen Solutions is recalling approximately 212,268 pounds of liquid egg products that may contain a cleaning solution with sodium hypochlorite, or a disinfecting bleach, according to the USDA’S Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The affected items, sold under the Egg Beaters and Bob Evans labels, were shipped to distributor locations in Ohio and Texas and for food service use in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Iowa. There is a possibility that the products were distributed nationwide, the FSIS said.
The agency discovered the problem after receiving a tip about the potential contamination. After an investigation, FSIS scientists concluded that use of this product poses a negligible at most risk of adverse health consequences.
The liquid eggs were produced March 12-13 and have use-by dates extending into August and, in one case, into 2026. Specific products are found on the FSIS website.

105,000+ Ford SUVs Have Serious Seat Belt Issues
Ford Motor Co. is recalling 105,322 Expeditions And Lincoln Navigators from model years 2018-2020 because of serious mechanical issues that may result in seat belts failing to retract or extend, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Commission.
The recall is the largest of four that have landed on the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration’s website. The smallest is the recall of 47 model year 2025 F-150 trucks because an incorrect fuse may cause the sudden loss of power.
,
About 38,000 small Ford SUVs have been recalled once again over software issues that weren’t properly addressed during a previous recall, according to NHTSA, the recall affects 15,355 Bronco Sports SUVs from model years 2021–2023, as well as 18,221 2020–2022 model year Escape SUVs with the base 1.5-liter engine.
Without the repairs, there is a risk the SUVs’ fuel injectors may crack, resulting in vaporized or pooling fuel near a hot engine, increasing the risk of under-hood fires and crashes, according to the safety agency.
A fourth Ford recall involves about 4,163 vehicles from the 2024-2025 F-15s. 2024–2025 Expeditions and 2024 Navigators because they may be equipped with “a misaligned engine cup plug at the side or rear of the engine, which may result in a rapid oil leak,” according to the NHTSA.
