ACROSS AMERICA — Two varieties of belVita Breakfast Sandwich products sold nationwide are being recalled because they may contain peanuts, according to a recall notice from the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall comes after three unconfirmed reports of peanut allergy illnesses were linked to the product, according to the notice, which said the possible contamination came from cross-contact on a single manufacturing line.
The recall is limited to specific lots of the Dark Chocolate Creme and Cinnamon Brown Sugar with Vanilla Creme varieties of belVita Breakfast Sandwich products listed on the FDA website. No other belVita products are affected.

The products were sold at Walmart and Kroger stores nationwide, according to notices on those companies’ websites.
People who have peanut allergies or severe sensitivities to peanuts could risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions by eating the products. These individuals should throw away any affected belVita products.
